The concept of a ‘Matthew party’ comes from the party Matthew the tax collector had when he invited not yet believers to hear about Jesus. So by freeing up time on a Sunday when we would normally be at church, we want each of us at some point in the week, to invite over or go out with not yet believers with the aim of having a spiritual conversation.
